Our Story

Kris “Tanto” Paronto

Kris “Tanto” Paronto was raised in a close-knit family where education and athletics were highly valued. His father, a former collegiate football coach, played a key role in shaping his discipline and drive. After excelling as a Junior All-American football player at Dixie College, Paronto earned a Bachelor’s degree from Mesa State College. His path took a turn when he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as an Army Ranger with the 2/75 Ranger Battalion and later as a commissioned officer in the Army National Guard. After leaving the military, Paronto worked as a contractor, traveling the world and earning a Master’s in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska Omaha.

Paronto is best known for his heroic actions during the 2012 Benghazi attack, which were portrayed in Michael Bay’s film 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. He co-authored the book 13 Hours alongside his fellow security team members. Following his military career, Paronto became a sought-after motivational speaker, author, and businessman. His books, The Ranger Way and The Patriot’s Creed, have inspired many, while his company, Battleline Tactical, provides tactical training. Paronto also co-hosts the Battleline Podcast, focusing on veteran issues, and founded the 14th Hour Foundation to support first responders and military veterans.

Ben Morgan

Ben Morgan, Co-Founder of Tanto Vodka, is a former U.S. Army Infantry Officer and Ranger with 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, part of a family legacy of service spanning World War I to Vietnam.

He began as an enlisted Ranger before earning his commission through ROTC at Colorado State University.

Ben attended U.S. Army Flight School, but a medical condition ended his path as an aviator. He completed his service as an Infantry Officer and later operated in high-threat environments with the Department of Defense and U.S. State Department, supporting operations in Baghdad, Iraq, and Africa.

His career ended after a severe back injury during a rocket attack in Baghdad. The recovery that followed tested him in new ways, physically and mentally.

With the support of his family, Ben rebuilt. Today, he runs Tanto Vodka alongside his Ranger buddy, Kris “Tanto” Paronto.

That same mindset drives Tanto Vodka.

Excellence can’t be mass produced.
It’s built through discipline and defined by standards that do not bend.
