Duelers began as an attempt to build something new between two traditions — not a tequila, and not a whiskey, but a spirit disciplined by both. Every batch starts with 100% Blue Weber agave, grown in the Highlands of Jalisco by a farmer-owned producer, then cut with pure Rocky Mountain water back home in Colorado Springs.
Fermentation with a specialty yeast strain builds the line's signature soft, sweet-and-spiced palate, and clean, precise distillation cuts keep the spirit's character intact through to the barrel. For Dark Double Oaked, that spirit spends extra time resting on a second cask — French oak — adding the depth and structure that give this expression its name. That extra time on French oak specifically is what sets Double Oaked apart from the rest of the line.Blanco skips extended oak aging entirely, staying closest to the raw character of the agave itself — the clearest read on the Duelers base spirit.Dark rests on American oak just long enough to round out its bold, whiskey-forward profile without the extended finish of Dark Double Oaked.Midnight spends the longest of any expression on oak, building the deep tobacco and caramel notes that define it — and the highest proof in the Duelers line.
